Acutronic is looking for a Senior Cost Accountant who will directly support the Aerospace Components Division and the Business Unit General Manager with a range of tasks, including but not limited to cost analysis, inventory reporting, standard costing, and margin insights across complex production environments. Experience supporting DCAA compliance or working with government contracts is a significant plus. This is a high visibility role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-scaling environment.

Senior Cost Accountant

Your Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of manufacturing cost accounting, including standard cost updates, variance analysis, and BOM/route reviews
  • Partner with plant operations to analyze labor, overhead, material usage, scrap, and production variances
  • Maintain and analyze inventory valuation, including cycle counts, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
  • Prepare detailed margin analysis and cost models to support pricing, forecasts, and financial planning
  • Monitor and report on manufacturing KPIs, recommending improvements to cost efficiency and operational processes
  • Support internal and external audit requirements, including DCAA or government contract–related cost reporting when applicable
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze fixed cost structures, ensuring accurate allocation of plant overhead
  • Evaluate and update overhead rate structures, including burden rates, absorption rates, and labor/machine utilization assumptions
  • Perform rate modeling and scenario analysis to assess cost impacts of operational changes, volume shifts, or capital investments
  • Ensure compliance with government cost principles (FAR/DCAA) when applicable, particularly in rate development and cost pool allocation
  • Drive enhancements to cost accounting systems and processes as the organization scales
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting for COGS and production-related expenses
  • Collaborate cross functionally with operations, engineering, supply chain, and finance leadership

Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • At least five years of manufacturing or plant-level cost accounting experience required
  • Experience with DCAA, FAR, or government contracting environments preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Epicor
  • Prior experience supporting a high-growth or scaling operation, a plus
